What happens

I just have to ask.. being a member here for just over 9 years, i have seen so many members come and go.. so many are coming but not posting and wonder where they are going.??

the member list is growing in number BUT the log on numbers are getting smaller. today at 3 pm eastern time there are only 5 members who logged on and i am one of them

What happens when and if there are no members logging on ?? will HT be taken off the net?? What is the deciding factor to deem a forum DEAD??

just wondering

Jo

Horsetopia certainly seems to be getting a lot less attention. Maybe too much on FB and other sites. I found my last horse here 9 years ago and will always be grateful to Horsetopia for bringing him into my life.

I have to say that I've been wondering about this for some time now. It's crazy how much the activity around here has dropped, even in the last year and couple months . . .

I found this web site and thought I would enjoy reading and learning about horses on it.
I did find there were a few people on it who tried to dominate the posts and were most intolerant of other opinions to the point of being rude and very sarcastic, so much so that I lost interest in the site. There are/were some good people here as well but the others still made it unpleasant, so I found another site where there can be some heated discussions but everybody has a right to give an opinion.
I was a little disappointed to find some of the same individuals on the second site but they are not allowed to take over the posts and dominate them the same, they can give an opinion and if (and there are some really good horse people there) others disagree they say so and don't let the one person just take over and refuse to allow other ideas, opinions.

Unhappy

I've often wondered the same thing. I haven't posted in a while myself, but have constantly perused the other threads.
I enjoy reading the stories, seeing the pictures.
And I know I would be sad if this forum were to be shut down.
There is a lot of useful, informative information here available at your fingertips!
I've been meaning to start a training thread myself on my 5 year old gelding; but as I've been dealing with a lot of personal issues, I know I don't have the time as of yet to truly start working with him.

Let's do our best to not let this forum die.

Probably the spam tools are banning them because they're from known spambot IPs?
