Chalky white urine
I have had Hickory about a month now. I noticed right off that he urinated often but not alot. Turned out he had a very large bean that I cleaned out. I dont notice him going as frequently and I see a good stream. One thing that concerns me (and I am pretty sure this lead to the bean). When he urinates you can see on the ground alot of white chalky stuff. What causes this? What can I do to eliminate this because I am pretty sure this deposit stuff is going to cause another bean in the future. He didnt have the best care and nutrition when I got him. He now gets plenty of good clean water and he drinks good. He is on Ultium to get his weight up. Mostly Timothy grassy mix hay and alittle alfalfa. Any ideas?

Well you could catch some of his urine in a jar and take it in to have the Vet check it out. I believe I would. If you do let us know what the results of the the test were please.

I think it's from too high protein maybe?

I'm with Tmom- You don't want to risk it being a kidney infection or something like that. Also, if there is a lot of calcium in his urine, it could ultimately cause stones, which may mean surgery...

As bad as it sounds, you need to get a sample.
