Crimped vs Whole Oats - How do you feed?

Do you feed crimped oats or whole oats and why? I have decided to start feeding all my horses Barn Bag plus oats. I have heard that crimped oats is more digestable than whole oats. Is this true?

I was just reading an article on The that said that there is no difference in the digestibility of whole oats versus rolled oats, I am not sure what the difference is in crimped oats. The article said that people often think that whole oats are not being digested because the hull is not processed so they see it in the manure, but it is just an empty hull.

I feed whole oas....I think that crimped oats are too dusty, unless they are triple cleaned and then they are really pricey! I do not see a difference from one to the other.

I feed Triple Crown steam-crimped oats. I've been very happy with it -- not dusty -- and the horses like it. My mare is HYPP n/H so that's why I feed oats versus anything with molasses or alfalfa in it.

From what I have read, there is no difference, unless your horse has a dental issue (then crimped would be better).
