What is tobiano, overo, tovero

I keep hearing and seeing this. What are the differences? Riley is a paint something or other. And I was asked what...

I don't know.

tobiano is the pattern where the white crosses the back and is usually rounder blob spots. Looks like a white horse with colored spots.

Overo is no white crosses from the withers back. Usually looks like a solid colored horse with white splashed on it or dipped into it.

Tovero is a combo. Usually has a medicine hat (color on the ears and top of head, a chest shield is common too. Usually a lot of white.

PtHA recognizes the tobiano and overo color.

Apha goes the whole spectrum.
