Palomino dun?.....Picture!.....

I just found out my palomino is apparently a dun!
He has a dorsal stripe which to be honest I had noticed but thought nothing of it but the trainer pointed out he has faint stripes on the back of his front legs too!
Oh and he is not a pure QH(which I kinda wondered about)but has Arab in him too!....oh well.,..he moves nice and is very athletic!

So tell me does this make him a dunalino?

My gelding has dun stripes as well, all of them but his eyes actually. When he was registered I don't think dunalino was an option he's reg. as a Pally. He is an APHA , we know this as he reg.

How do you know yours is not a Quarter Horse? My husbands mare is a Purebred AQHA, wears an Arab halter, has a naturally long thin neck and a dish that's more prominent than our Arab mare has. She's also really fine boned and while she has a good hip it's not super heavy. He's actually had people argue with him that's she's a 1/2 breed. Nope , we were there, we owned the dam and the only stallion on the place was a Quarter Horse.

Do I see striped hooves? Some pals have counter shading instead of stripe down the back. Pretty horse no matter what color.

Seriously? lmao-well I guess being being 2 days since the OP...yeah it's pretty old

He could be a dunalino-although they usually have slightly darker legs in addition to the stripes-as long as you're having fun with him, he could be purple and still be awesome

I would think that it was countershading if you hadn't seen stripes on the legs. By the way, 2 days is not an old post! 2 years would be more like it! He's a pretty horse. I have a Palomino QH that looks just like him!

Actually, striped hooves don't mean anything. My reg'd palomino QH has them.

The post that says this is an old post is totally spam. All the links in the signature area to unrelated stuff should be your first indicator ...
