Hello's from NC...

I've frequented HT for a while, but never read much of the forums. This is actually where I found my latest addition to my critter addiction. I just recently bought a 4yo Andalusian/QH gelding, Dusty, and just tickled to death that he's mine! Actually, the hubby bought him for me as an early Christmas present, but I got to pick him out! It's been 17 years since my last horse, so I've hit the forums for a lot of refreshers and advice. Thanks to everyone for the wealth of advice and knowledge! I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of time doing some reading here! Dusty's going to need a ton of work, so I may be asking a lot of silly questions here before too long.

Other than Dusty the horse, I have 8 cats, 4 great danes, 1 raccoon (shhhh!), 1 human child of my own and 3 step daughters....oh, and a hubby too!...lol. Needless to say, the animals keep me busy, but more-so, they keep my happy. Hubby and I just got married in August and I am SO thankful that he's tolerant of the animals....lucky for him I suppose...lol.

So, hello to all and happy holidays!

Welcome form Alberta! I love your zoo! I've always wanted a great dane, and the raccoon looks adorable! And congrats on getting into horses again after so long

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!! I'll definately get some pics of Dusty uploaded as soon as possible...if I could just keep him clean long enough to snap a pic or 5...lol! I'll refrain from sending the pics of him from when we first got him though. He was severely underweight and a poor sight for sure. He's starting to plump up, so he's definately a bit more photogenic than a month ago...lol. If I could just get his mane to grow faster...a previous owner gave him nearly a buzz cut and he looks like a dork...lol! Either way, he's still a handsome boy to me!

Oh, and Jilley....danes are the best! Had 7 of them over the last few years and will more than likely never own another breed of dog! As for the 'coon...he is the MOST adorable little guy!! Seven months old now....had him since he was a week old and about as spoiled as he can get. He thinks he's a cat...lol. The danes are terrified of him and he loves bullying them around too....the cats tolerate him and just put a paw out on his head like older brothers do to their little brothers so that they can't reach each other. Funny stuff!
