New from MN, meet my family

I am a new horse owner, we got our first two horses June 1st, a couple of Quarter horses. They turned 2 in May, Malcolm (my horse) and his sister, Zoe. They had very little human contact when we got them, had never even had a halter on. Mal is 15.3 hands, Zoe is 16 hands. If we would have known better we would have gotten a couple of older, well broke horses. They were pretty wild when we got them. I have spent everyday with them, they are now spoiled brats. My husband did get a couple of broken ribs from Mal, and Zoe reared up and kicked my son in law in the face. They are now very sweet, follow us all around the pasture, get brushed twice a day.
We then decided to get an older, well broke horse, so we bought Kaylee. She is a 14 year old Arabian chestnut mare. She is a rescue horse, was at a feed lot getting ready to go to slaughter. She is barn sour and hates being away from Mal & Zoe, which it makes it very difficult to ride her. I have not been able to ride her yet. My husband can, she isn't to bad once she gets down the road.
Next is Inara, the horse we got for my 12 year old son. She was the Free black Arabian I wrote about earlier. She is 10 and has never been broke to ride. We were able to put a saddle on her without to much trouble. I think we will be able to work with her this spring. She has no issues, doesn't care if she is with the other horses or not.
Well, that is my new extended family, I love each of them, and they have found their forever home.

Malcolm, front and Center, as usual & Zoe

Kaylee and my Grandson

Beautiful Inara

If any of you are familiar with the show Firefly, then you will understand their names, each fits their character well. Their home is called "Serenity"

I got Kaylee from a Horse Rescue place called "Great Expectations" located in Pillager, MN. I keep thinking she looks pregnant but the rescue place tells me she can't be. She had a foal last winter I was told, but the person who had her then didn't know she was ready to foal. So her baby was born during the night and when the owner found her in the morning the foal had froze to death. So if she is pregnant it would have to be a winter baby again. Does anyone know how to tell without using a vet?
