Hi and welcome. As for your fear, take one step at a time. Take deep breaths, get on and even if you only sit on your horse for five minutes and get off, you have achieved a positive move. Stay on longer as you feel more confident. Then add a walk, and so on and so on. Is your horse prone to buck or is it that you are afraid that he might buck? I find there are so many of us who have this battle with our phycological (sp) selves that we cause ourselves more pain than we will ever receive physically from our horses. If he does not buck and it is in your head like most of us, then hopefully the slow steps and deep breathing will help. I am always fighting with my partner, the phycological half!!! Fortunately I am very stubborn so I just get on and deal with the fear in a very safe manner.

Greetings from Virginia! No advice on the fear issues---suffer from it sometimes, as well.
