Smile Another Virginian

Hello All!
Just wanted introduce myself and my big boy. My name is Lisa and my horse's name is Hickory Knolls Kokopelli, Koko for short. Koko is a 10yo black, Percheron standing 18.3hh. He is a BIG baby and LOVES attention. Myself, I am 39yo and back in the saddle. I was a horseless rider growing up (I had several friends who had horses) Finally after all these years, I finally got my OWN horse. I guess good things come to those who wait. I love to trail ride and thought about training for a Long Distance Competition. I've gotten info from the websites, but would love anyone who has done this to give me personal input. Feel free to email me!
I look forward to getting to know all of you!!

Would love to see pics of your perch! Welcome.

I don't, however, think that such a BIG horse is the right choice for long distance trail competition...especially if you mean endurance riding...which is a speed event.

I live in Spotsylvania County area right now. I have my horses (I have nine including Koko) in King George County. We just purchased 93 acres w/house in Culpeper County. Right now we are in the process of builing a stable and paddocks since there weren't any when we purchased it. Can't wait to be all in the same place with my horses. Its hard traveling back and forth.

My avatar is a pic of Koko. I'm still new at this so trying to figure out how to post pics. It doesn't have a browse button that I can see to enter my pics and I'm not sure what my URL is for my pics. Sorry!

Greetings from another Virginian! Please join our regional group (look under "Regional Chat")---we are the last ones on the list. We could use a boost to that area. I envy your acreage.
