New member from Michigan

I just signed up for the forums! I am from the Northern part of Michigan. I have a LOT of critters, lol, and I hope to achieve a USDA Class C Exhibitors license to start a petting zoo and pony ride business!

I currently have five horses... Well, 4 and a half.

Pumpkin, 32" sorrel Mini gelding. 4 years old. I purchased Pumpkin from a woman that used him for petting zoos. It really shows. He is a totally bombproof, sweet little dude, and loves giving rides to my small daughter and other small children. He has a definate forever home with us, he is has more than earned it!

Lizzie, 34" black Mini mare. About 9 years old. Lizzie was in rough shape when I bought her. She was thin and scared, with severly overgrown feet that were affecting her conformation and an abcessed nail imbedded in one hoof. She is a very sweet little pony, and she is coming along very well, but she still gets the shakes when something is new and frightens her. So we just take it slow. She is one of the prettiest pony mares I have ever seen, a deep shiny black with a mane that hangs to her knees. She is very slender and refined. Lizzie too has a forever home with us, as I am afraid that her timidity could be missread as stubborness, and would hate to have someone abuse her more. She may become a leadline or trail pony, but for now her job is to heal in mind and body.

And this is where the half a horse comes in Little Bit, 40" sorrel Mini mule. 8 years old. I bought Little Bit last December, so he is our newest *purchased* addition. He is a very sweet and smart little dude, a little too smart at times, if you know what I mean. It amazes me how different his mind works from the horses. He is very freindly, but he picks who is he is friendly with. I am hoping to break him to cart this summer, and I would like to get a buddy for him that is the same size that he can drive in tandem with. He probably will never leadline.

Blaze, 13.3HH grade chestnut Haflinger mare. She is approximately 15 years old. Blaze is absolutely gorgeous. She is most likely not purebred Haflinger, as she has a pair of stunning blue eyes. She also has a unique blaze, two white socks and two stockings. Physically she looks all Haflinger. Blaze is not yet broke to ride, but should be broke out next spring.

Brego, currently 10HH sorrel Haflinger/AQHA cross. He is one month old today! He is also the reason that Blaze won't be broke until next year, he is her son. His father is CS Hancock Peppy, a registered AQHA stallion of Peppy San Badger and Hancock decent. I believe he goes back to Three Bars about 4 times. Brego is a thick and beautiful foal, with a great mind and a darling personality. We will be keeping him and he will be trained as a 4H mount for my daughters, in about 4-5 years, lol. I purchased Blaze already in foal last October.

I have two children, both girls, one 4 and one 7. My oldest daughter is starting lessons this summer, and if she does well, she will get her own horse. I plan on finding an older mare or gelding that has been there done that, so my little girl can w/t barels patterns with her. My youngest daughter currently leadlines on Pumpkin, but Kenzie is starting to get to big for him. Besides, she doesn't want a PONY, she wants a HORSE!

We also have 4 goats, two Pygmies (a doe, Macy and a whether, Gus) and two Mini Nubians (a buck, Josh and a doe, Mandy.) I have a pair of ducks, Flower and Thorn, my hen is currently setting so there will be babies (!) and 20 chickens. I have four egg layers, a big Americuana roo, one unknown chick that I purchased, 9 Cochin bantams, 4 OEG bantams, and a Mille Fluer. All the adult birds have names, lol, and come when called.

We have three cats, two red point Birmans named Kane and Kola, and a grey tabby kitten named Marley (she is an absolute hoot.) Two dogs, my girls have a poodle, Shadow, and our other dog is a Shar Pei, Lilly.

We have two turtles, TipToe and Lucy, a frog, a lizard, a salamander, and a fish tank. We are putting in a fish pond right now, so that will be fun!

Sorry for the long intro, lol! I hope that I can make some new friends here!

LOL, I live near Cadillac, about 25 miles west of. I would love to post photos right now, lol, but my computer doesn't like photobucket for some reason and IE usually errors out on me when I open it. It is a new computer, so I have no idea of the reason.

I am trying to find out from the mods if I can post photos that I have hosted on another forum. If I get a yes, I'll post some right away.
