Post Hello From Michigan

Hello Everyone!!

I've been checking out this site for a while and really like it so I joined.

I live in MI. I have several horses. My first two were a half arab. mare and a pure arab stallion that I use to show when I lived in Texas. I bred them for people who wanted a foal out of them. (He was Res. Can. Nat. Champ. and when he went to U.S. he was poisned! )

Saddly to say they are no longer with me, but I do have the last baby they had. He is two years old and has his daddy's markings. (4 socks, lightning bolt on his forhead, and a red dark bey color) I will keep him forever as well!!

Sadly, I have his half brother for sale. He is pure arabian out of a great mare. Great little mover, but in today's econ. I'm sure I will have him for a while and get some training on him first.

I don't compete anymore. I enjoy trail riding, I ride them in dog hunting trials (great training for them and mine have a wonderful fast smooth sitting trot.), and I am planning on getting into endurance with Lightning (my two year old) when he is ready. Can't wait to get him under saddle and on the trails to start!!!

Hope everyone has a great ThanksGiving!!!

Hello! I am from Michigan as well - pleasure to meet you! I am sorry to hear you no longer have your beloveds, but I do wish you well with the young one you now have to carry on!

Endurance Racing, never done it but I've seen a few! The barn I board at, there is a Therapudic Center next door and they host a very large Endurance Race every summer.

I thoroughly enjoyed wandering through their camps seeing all their horses and getting to meet everyone - very pleasant folk!

Yep, another Michigander

I live in Emmett. About 20 min. east of Port Huron. Always looking for a good trail ride and to meet new horse people. A couple of friends and I are always looking to travel with the horses and go on new trails. We are looking to do some overnight trail rides next summer. Always open to suggestions.

We are looking into the week ride lake to lake ride starting at Huron and going West to MI. Anyone know of that one or are interested in doing that next year?
