First Time Poster, Long, Long, Long Time Reader

Hello Everyone,
I've been lurking around this place for at least a year and a half. I feel as though I know some of you even none of you have ever heard from me. I have learned so much just reading about your first-hand experiences and seeing all of the wonderful, and sometimes sad pictures. Anyway, a little about me... I am 42, I live in S.C. I grew up around ponies and horses most of my life...mostly ponies. I got my first one around the age of 11 or 12. She died about a year after I got her. I wanted a horse in high school but I knew I would be leaving for college soon, so I didn't bother. After living in cities for a few years, I finally moved back home to the country where I had a place to keep horses.....you guessed it! I got a couple. After a few short years, I moved around a few times and didn't have any place to keep them so I had to sell them. Finally, I am in a position where I can get back in the saddle. My goal is to get one by the Spring. I mostly rode walking horses, but I am very curious about quarter horses.

Welcome from Sunny, no cross that out, Rainy Florida !

Welcome from Florida

Go with Walking Horses or at least a Gaited breed......the older you get the more you need the smoothness.

Best of Luck to you on your Horse search! I just bought my firsts this year. Our riding horses are a 12 year old TWH and a 15 yr old Rocky Mt Gaited Horse. They are both AWESOME. You can see them on www.Neigh.com/CatFromFL. They look very different but both are wonderfully smooth rides, not the choppy posting of non-gaited. We followed the advice of some of our older friends who were "horse wise" and they were right. Anyway best of luck in your search and again welcome!
