Hello there to everyone! I'm so happy to be posting here with all of you, I've been a lurker for quite awhile and must say Ya'll rock! I love all the new babies, horses, goats, cows, any kind of baby or animals in general. You guys offer some of the best advice, friendship, and moral support that a horse owner could ask for. I'm glad to be here and even happier to have all of you here with me.
Now for a little about me. I'm 25 years old and live in Central, Missouri. I'm engaged to be married and that's all supposed to take place next month (on the 19th) if I get my butt moving and finalize some plans. Gary and I have been together since Jan 2001, and we couldn't be happier (well we could, but ya know). Damien is five, going on 6 in August and has been riding for 2 years now on his own. I started him later than I usually would because he had a major surgery at the age of five months and had to have part of his skull removed so his brain could grow. He ended up wearing a helmet for a year and a half to protect his head and to shape it as well. Things are going great for him now and you can't tell he had anything wrong. I still freak everytime he happens to come off a horse, but he loves it! The boy can ride better than I imagined and I guess I need to loosen up a bit. I have two stepdaughter, they are gorgeous and more loving than anything. Jordan and Ashley. They are learning about horses and can ride pretty good, even though Ash is a little more timid.
We have 9 horses at the moment. My horse Candy, I have had for 12 years now. She is going on 17, and doesn't look like it at all. She's beautiful. I love that horse and refer to her as my first born child. She has a home with me always and forever, she is my girl.
We also have Spirit, Damien's horse. She was badly abused before I bought her, but she loves him to death. I have her listed for sale, because he wants something smaller that he can saddle himself, get on and off of himself, and something goes faster
Then there is Patty, Twister, and Annie. We bought Patty and got Twister and Annie for free. Patty is a QH/TB cross, she is out of Annie, with high energy and saddling issues. She is a gray and is 11 years old. Twister, also out of Annie, is a 4 year old full QH. He's a blood bay and he's absolutely stunning, I can't wait to see him shed out. He's got respect problems so he's getting lots and lots of groundwork. If he doesn't get sold, I will break him out for a new lesson horse. Annie, a red dun, is 20+ years old. She was a barrel horse at one time, but has been used as a brood mare for several years. She was very thin when we brought her home. She still has a ways to go, but she looks much better. She will more than likely be sold to a loving home as a companion horse.
Then there is Sunshine, a tricolor mini mare. She is the kids horse and a cart pony. She gorgeous!
Cookie - a buckskin paint Missouri Foxtrotter. She is one of the prettiest horses I've seen, and I never was into gaited horses until I met her. She's an in your pocket kind of girl. She loves to be pet and she follows kids around like a puppy.
Silver - white with a few brown spots POA. He's a pain to me, but for my little brother he is a dream come true. You can imagine how he got his name, and I happened to be playing the role of "rider" that day.
Then there is Faye which we have had for 3 days now. She's an absolutely gorgeous QH. She's an absolutely beatiful buckskin! Her registered name is supposed to be Glory Valleys Glory Faye Reno. I don't know if she has great bloodlines, don't care, for the price we got her at, and the conditions I took her from. She has been foundered, and her front legs get tight when she doesn't have the room to move and stretch out. When we went to look at her she was on a concrete floor, no padding except the lairs of manure. She was in a foaling size box with another full size QH. She came home with me a couple days later for the big price of ....$0. We plan on getting her proper care and plenty of love. She is still rideable and she loves attention. She's a great addition.
Well that's my group of horses, I also have some goats, they are sooo much fun to have around, especially right now with 6 babies running around. 3 of the babies are half fainting goat too, so they are a blast to watch learning new things. We were pretty shocked when my baby girl, Emma (don't ask about the name) had 4 babies. They were tiny! Only two survived it though, one died at birth, the other died overnight.
Well that's it for now, can't wait to post with all of you!!
