Hello from The Ozarks! SW MIssouri that is.....

I just got the email to confirm my log in so here I am.

I hope everyone is having a nice New Years Eve and I can't wait to read and post a bit.
I live in a rural area in SW Missouri. I work part time (RN) and we raise MFT's, MFT mules, MFT ponies and MFT/Draft crosses. That sounds like a lot but it's just a couple of each. The ponies and draft crosses are new for us but we have some foals due in 2007.
I noticed there are a few threads about color genetics, my favorite subject. I don't breed for color but I love it when there is a lot of color possibilities and I want to know them all.
I also noticed there seemed to be mostly QH, WB etc, few gaited horse owners, or mules for that matter at least for what I've read so far.
My little mare Sheena may fit in here though. She's not gaited is a 45 inch appaloosa pony mare that qualifies for the Indian Pony registry and she's as sweet as they come.
Well, I'm off to read a few posts and meet some of you!

You picked the right way to start off BTW.

Hello from The Ozarks! SW Missouri that is.....

Oh hey! Thanks for the warm welcome!
I've never been that good at posting photo's on forums but I'll try.
It took forever to figure out what an avatar was and how to do it but I did.
My avatar is my Amber Champagne MFT molly mule Tessa.

Welcome from another Missourian, located in Gasconade County, about 2 hrs from Springfield. I love and ride missouri foxtrotters and an occasional walking horse. Also enjoyed a ride on a neighbors Molly mule, she was a treat. My avatar is my jack russell Sassy, I now have a rough coat, short legged pup Roxie, and plan to breed her with a nice stud for some Jack russells when she is of age, along with my aussies that I raise and love. Got quite a petting zoo going on. Look forward to hearing more from you.

Oh, fer garsh sakes!
You are in my neighborhood!
I visited with a guy there this past summer that has the coolest, 18 hand Percheron stud and I mean stud! Wow.
He had bred a MFT mare to him and she was gaited but was sold before I got to her.

I know that area pretty well. My address is Buffalo but I'm closer to Halfway. I work at CMH hospital in Bolivar.

Glad to meet you neighbor!

Wow, another neigbor, great to hear from you all
I have a friend near Union that raises MFT's. My draft mare Bonnie is in foal to her Gold Champagne MFT stallion.
That Gasconade river is all over the place though, I've been to Herman too and ate at a very fine place there on the river called Rivers End.

Buddy - mule foal

Okay, here's an attempt to post a photo. I've just been adding photo's to photobucket like the instructions said..............drum roll

Here's one of our first mule foals born here, Buddy's mom was my QH mare Sunny whose sire was a son of Skipper W and her mother a granddaughter to Impressive.

None of your photos were too big for me, those mule babies were just the cutest thing I have seen this year! lol Excuse the pun.. Yeah we live about 45 min. from Union Missouri. Have a foxtrotter ranch not far from us located on Double EE hwy, but not sure of the name. I keep meaning to go see the stock there.
