a little bout me

Hello,
My name is Judy and I am pleased to meet all of you. I'm a homemaker and I've been happily married for 27 years and I have two children, Julia 25, John, 11 and two grandchildren DaisyMay 5 and Brett 3.
Lets see... When I was 13 my first horse was a Shetland pony I named stormy. I had to leave him behind as I was told he wasn't really mine. He turned 34 this year. I met Tom through my sister and her husband. They arranged our meeting. Tom proposed to me three weeks later. "Whoa boy, your moving to fast for me", so we were married a year later.
I bred pet birds for a pet shop for ten years. My son was diagnosed with asthma so I had to give that up.
Six years ago we bought Tom's Great Grandparents 32 acre farm. Tom isn't crazy bought four legged creatures, he prefers his to eat gas. I collect animals, he collects tractors.

Tom got me my first colt (now a gelding) before the ink was dry to the deed on our farm. He is a tall, scrawny, mutt of a horse named Durango but I love him. You will be hearing from me on this horse. He has had buddies come and go but for now and not much longer he shares his home with a reg. spotted saddle horse mare "Girl".
I've decided to breed miniature horses. I currently have six
Woody (paint gelding), Monty (paint baby), Yu Ghi (black age 2), Blaze (palomino baby), Heidi (brown age 3), Becky (sorrel age 2)
I have 2 Maltese dogs, McKee (age 4) and Minnie (age 3) and they have 3 four week old puppies, George, Kiah, Scruffy
2 Toy Poodles, Sandy (age 1, expecting in Oct.) and Olive (age 2)
2 Aussies, Benny (9 months) and Shania (9 weeks)
1 Rottie mix, Liberty (age 4)
6 peacocks/white and India blue
8 chickens/sex link and Cornish
6 goats/ Boer and dairy
2 turtles (Red Eared Sliders)
1 indoor cat, last count 8 barn cats
2 55 gal, 1 65 gal, and 1 ten gal. fish tanks.
plastic garden pond full of rescued tadpoles
My husband has decided to breed cows. He has 10 beef cows. Mostly Dexter. You will probably be hearing bought these too.

I have a passion that is getting out of control. The chains that have bound me all these years is broken and I'm running wild. Boy do I need to get a better paying job. Homemaker is very rewarding but pay is lousy.
I baby set on and off. It helps to buy the occasional bag of food.
I tried to work outside the home. I picked grapes for two years but Tom wanted me home so I gave that up.

Welcome to the forum! What kind of fish do you have?

It sounds like you've got quite a wonderful menagerie at home! Please post some photos if you haven't already.

Hello from Ontario!

Since you've been a Horsetopia member for awhile now I think it's safe to say you know the Horsetopia rules .

You know, we could compare notes on the Dexters, we own a few too!

Welcome Judy! I hope you enjoy this forum just as much as I have.. I love reading all the wonderful stories, seeing all the beautiful horses, and other animals, and just knowing that there are such great people in the world. People that have animals because they love them, not because they want to make a buck..

A big welcome from Wisconsin. And might I say, you have quite the expansive array of furry, scaley, shelled, slimey, and feathered friends

Welcome from Minnesota! I know what you mean about breaking free, don't worry, it settles down to a dull roar after a while
