Hello All! For some strange reason I felt the need to finally introduce myself after over a year of membership. I guess I finally decided that I must have been hanging around for some reason and I thought that maybe I should share a bit about myself!
I am back into horses. As a teenager I was loaned, by an uncle, a FT/ Welsh paint (Baby Doll) who was such an outstanding child's horse that I took her for granted and thought all other horses out there must be just like her. I now know!!!
I was not competitive in any form. My parent’s new nothing about horses, I had no "horsy" friends, and with her being such a push button horse, I really didn't need to know a whole lot to ride her. I mainly rode her out in the countryside where I grew up and spent many hours on her barefoot and bareback alone in the woods exploring. (BTW, I would not advise this now!

)These are times I will never forget and times I feel actually helped shape the person I've become.
In an attempt not to ramble, I gave her back when I left home for college and swore I would have another horse again someday....which is now! I currently have three QHs. First bought was Little Man, my gelding that I bought for my daughter. He is the perfect starter horse in that you have to know a little about what you are doing to ride him, but if and when you do, he is a dream to ride. I instantly realized that one horse would not at all do, and with the nativity of my teenage years still in check, I purchased/rescued a broodmare, Coocita, sight unseen from AGDirect for myself......
You all know the saying: green horse + green rider = black and blue. Yep, that was/is me, although I now have an extremely intense bond with her and our riding together is going strong. Last month I finally signed up for professional lessons and I plan on taking this horse somewhere, someday- even if it is just down the road to the local horse show!

She is incredible. Luckily, my instructor thinks so too - likes my seat and likes my horse, and is excited about us as well.
And last but not least is Sweetie. Of course, I now needed a horse that ANYONE could ride, and she is that horse. Her name came with her and there was no changing it because that is exactly what she is...such a sweetie. The scary yet exciting thing is that she is pregnant, which I did
not know when I bought her. She is not a completely finished horse, but she has such a level head on her (five going on fifteen) and is so spookless that she still makes a wonderful horse. And, she is very willing to learn and VERY smart. She is the Houdini (escape artist) of the family...hence the reason I suspect I bought her pregnant!
To sum it all up, I am a schoolteacher, wife, mother of three, horse fanatic, and greyhound lover/ adoption advocate and representative. But, that's another story!
