Hello from Virginia

I have been reading postings to the forum for a while now and today I thought I would go ahead and dive into the deep end and actually join in the conversations. I am very impressed with the knowledge and maturity that is displayed every day in the forum. I had made a point to stay away from forums because the last time I tried to join one nobody wanted to talk about their horses they wanted to talk about the "things" they had. Horsetopia is a refreshing change.
Anyway, my husband and I are currently living in Suffolk,Virginia (near Virginia Beach) although we will be moving next year courtesy of the United States Coast Guard. (he is active, not me) So any advice on owning horses while in the military is greatly appreciated. We have 2 horses, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 11 koi and a partridge in a pear tree. My mare's names are Annabelle (a quarter horse arabian mix) and Phoenix ( a thoroughbred). Phoenix's race name was Eyembroke (no wonder she didn't win any money racing).
Now that I have completely bored you with my life story, I just wanted to say hello and thank you for having a place where serious horse people and animal people could share advise and just commune.

Thanks for your P.M. I am on the Middle Peninsula---about an hour from you. I have quite a few Coast Guard friends. (Gwynns Island and Yorktown). I myself am a military brat (Army) from way back.
