Hello from Louisiana

Hi! My name is Nadia I am 29, married to Brad 35, and live in Louisiana. I have just recently decided to add a horse to our family but it will probably be a while before it comes to fruition. I have alot of experience in showing Western Pleasure before my oldest son was born. I had a dark bay Appaloosa gelding who was my world once upon a time. When Noah, my oldest was born premature weighing 2 lbs 9 ozs and was diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy I decided to sell my Bayou Boy so I could dedicate my time to the new man that was my world, Noah. Since then we had Brady who will be 3 on July 29th. They are both absolute sunshine. Noah loves animals but is wary of large animals because he is in a wheelchair (he is afraid that he can not get away if something should happen.) A while back I wanted to enroll him in hippotherapy but he was afraid and for some reason now he says he wants to ride. So, we want our own horse that we can enjoy.
We also have two cats, a black pug and numerous blue crawfish.

I will be lurking for the most part for now. I have ALOT to relearn and learn and enjoy reading all of your posts.

BTW, here is a pic of Noah pulling Brady behind his powerchair in the front yard~

Hi, Nadia, nice to meet you.
Love the picture of Noah and Brady.

My husband and I have two grown sons, one daughter-in-law,
and two grandsons ages 18 months and 2 months.

We are the happy owners of four horses-
A Leopard Appaloosa gelding
A Brown AQHA gelding
A grade gelding
And a beautiful grade bay mare.
My family enjoys Team Penning and Sorting.
Welcome from East Texas.

Hello, and welcome to the Horsetopia family! I think that you will find that this is a wonderful place for information, support and friendship. I'm so happy that you decided to de-lurk and post! I absolutely love the picture of your boys. How cool is that? My son has a severe brain injury, but other than a general CP diagnosis, has no other diagnosis... He loves to ride! It encourages him to relax his hips and legs, and to use his upper body strength to sit upright. I'm glad your son wants to ride. I'm sure you'll find that special horse that will suit him...

Also, if you haven't done so already, please check out our forum rules at: http://www.forum.horsetopia.com/viewtopic.php?t=2969 . If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact any of the moderators or administrators.

Here at Horsetopia, we love to see a lot of photos, and I look forward to seeing pictures of your herd! If you have any difficulties posting pictures or creating an avatar, check out this link http://forum.horsetopia.com/viewtopic.php?t=963. If you still find that you are having trouble, you may contact our Technical Coach and Moderator, Taelesean, for further assistance.

Finally, please allow me to extend to you a big hello from North Texas! Don't go back into lurker mode, I'd love to get the chance to get to know you better. Plus, sharing information is what we're all about. There's so much that I don't know, and I learn something new every day. There are, however, occasions where I can offer information, advice, or just support...

Welcome aboard!
