Hola from Colorado

Hi all! My name is Kate... but I'm better known as the DraftieMama. I live and work in downtown denver. I board my horses at a small family barn about 15 minutes from my home. I own two big beasts. First let me introduce my gelding "Jack"- he is my love- he is an 11 year old percheron, he rides and drives, but I mainly use him for trail riding. He is retired from an amish farm where he was used hard as a plow horse.

Next up the old mare, "Miss Princess" she is a 26 y/o quarter horse/belgian cross- this picture doesn't begin to show what a tank she really is- shes about 15 hands, but weighs in at 1350lbs. She is a feisty old lady, who is retired from a long career as a carriage horse. My husband uses her for light trail rides (she has some arthritis), but her most important job is "Jacks" main mare

We also share our home with four cats, two large dogs (a lab mix and a siberian husky) and two house rabbits.
I look forward to getting to know ya'll and your four legged friends!

Welcome, Kate! So glad you found Horsetopia!

Coincidences never cease! My avatar here is Jake, my 11 year old Percheron gelding! Jack sure is stunning! Bet he's a blast to ride!

Eagle horse-> I loooove kenosha- that big turn on 285 where it opens up onto the valley is as close as I think a person can get to heaven. i grew up inbetween evergreen and Idaho springs, but I would love to move up to your area when or if i ever get a chance to get back into the mountains.

DraftieMama - yeah, my husband and I love it too! Sometimes we trailer in to Evergreen and ride at Elk Meadow in the summer months. And we like to ride at Three Sisters Park. We just LOVE that area too! We enjoy riding a lot in the national forests and like the Colorado Trail in the Fall when all the Aspens are glowing. I have a Mustang gelding and a Quarab colt that we hope to train this summer. And... I hope to get some pictures posted on here soon.

eieo- if they're part perch- they'll be fabulous!!!- okay, I am a little biased

eagle horse -> ha, I grew up a few miles past elk meadow (back when it was still Mean's Meadow!) I have never ridden the colorado trail, but I have hiked many parts of it- It is awesome. Good luck with your quarab colt- sounds like a fun project!
