Greetings from an Ontario Newbie!

Just created my account today and am looking forward to "meeting" everyone online!

Wow, not good at intros but anyways, a little about myself. I currently do not own a horse but would love to have my own someday. I have been getting my 'horse fix' by taking lessons for the past year or so. I did take some lessons when I was younger but do to other commitments had to stop taking them.

It is all thanks to my 8 year old daughter that I have rediscovered horseback riding as a way to relax/destress and to have some fun and exercise. She seems to have inherited my love for anything horse and has begged Santa, myself or anyone else she could possibly weasel into getting her her own pony. Well, financially buying and boarding my own horse is out of the question financially at the moment but did look into riding lessons last year for her and gave her the riding lessons as part of her birthday gift. Seeing her having so much fun reminded me of the lessons I used to enjoy and after discovering that there was a weekly womens "hags on nags" group, decided to jump into the saddle! There is no turning back now so am now looking at taking the next step by partboarding a horse.

I have been reading some of the posts in the bulletin boards and have found some very helpful information. Thanks to you all for sharing your insights and info!

More greetings from Virginia.

I too am without horses, and getting my equine fix by taking lessons....with my just turned nine son! Only instead of partboarding, I am going to jump into horse ownership in the deep end - I am currently building my own barn and fencing!

Where I live/thanks for welcoming me/taelesean greetings

I live in Courtice, between Oshawa and Bowmanville.

Thanks so much for the warm greetings! Can't believe all the places over North America everyone is from, not to mention i believe I saw one from Germany.

This is one of the upsides of computers and improved technology, that is being able to communicate with others easier and quicker.

taelesean, wow you really are going in feet first, best of luck to you, wish I had the property to have some horses. Tried to persuade my sister-in-law as she just moved into a house with some more property, but unfortunately for me they are opting to put in an ice rink and fish pond instead.
