Am I allowed to reply to posts?

I just joined last week and suspected there might be a short delay before I was allowed to post but how long is it? This seems to be the only forum where I can post. I've tried in several other forums and keep getting a message saying my post has to be reviewed by an administrator. I'm just curious what I need to do or how do I contact an administrator (which one)?

All new members go on pre-approval status until we can be sure they are real people not spammers.

So how long does that last and what happened to my posts that are "awaiting approval"?
