New from MI

I guess this is where you're supposed to make your first post so here goes. Located in mid-Michigan with four horses (and a ton of other animals). Only reason I have horses is to camp and trail ride and that will probably be what most of my questions / posts will be related to. Horses have taken us to many places throughout MI, Brown County IN, Hocking Hills OH, and Land Between the Lakes KY. Lots of other places we hope to visit in the future, just time and money.

I love riding in MI! Rode part of the north shore trail several years ago. Sis and I grew up in the UP and are planning a trip back there to ride.

Welcome to HT from a fellow trail rider!

Hi from your lower neighbor Ohio. Lots of fellow trail riders on this forum, including yours truly. I live here, and have yet to make it to Hocking Hills...

Welcome to HT from a fellow trail rider!

Heard some good things about riding in Pennsylvania, hope to check it out soon. Just curious, what "north shore trail" are you referring to? Something in the UP or the shore to shore trail?

So I have to ask, I replied to a couple other threads before I posted here and they all gave me a message about having to first be approved by a moderator. Are those posts lost or is there a moderator that checks in every third day or something? Nothing special, just curious.

Here's a couple pics since someone asked:

This one is in a cave at the Hocking Hills, on the left in the pic is George, and on the right is his older brother Streak.

And here's an appropriate one for the day, this is their mother, Lacey, a couple years ago at a friends Halloween party:

There are some great places to ride in PA for sure!

We rode part of the north shore trail in the UP. We stayed in a campground that was a large circle withe tents/campers on the outside. Had a mother bear lose her cub in the inner circle of trees -- everyone's horses took off but ours...we had two pretty bossy mares and they didn't want anyone messing with their hay...

Sister and I are thinking about riding the shore to shore trail.

I've never heard of the north shore trail, can you give a link or tell me where it's located - closest city even though that doesn't always mean a lot in the UP . We were just in the UP a month ago riding the from the center camp on the Bay de Noc to Grand Island trail. That was some nice riding.

Grew up in SE Michigan, have a friend who now lives outside Denver, someplace called Franktown? He's talking about getting llama's and beef cows.
