Introductions

Hi my name is Deb . I am the co founder of the Back in the Saddle Project (BITS).
I have been a lifelong horse lover and owner. I volunteered for a local rescue in Northern California and was shocked and appalled at the difference between the real rescue and what the stories their website told.
Together with another ex volunteer we founded BITS . We hope to be more than just another rescue but a solution to the unwanted , and neglected horse issues.

Good luck! More thought needs to go into "what" is rescued, imo.. The stories often seem to be um, embellished. Or flat out silly. Like a rescue I read about, proudly proclaiming they allowed a four-year old to live for a year, with a severely broken leg, before they euthed him.

Again, JMHO, horses need four mostly sound legs and a good brain, to warrant rescue.

To Horses. Well cared for, well-trained, well loved.
