Zippy's first outing

So Ive got a pretty decent weekend ahead of me. Saturday Im bringing home Sierra and Ive planned to go riding at the Dunns Creek State park (like 5minutes up the road) with Zippy for his first "trail outing" on Sunday. He rides good on the trails here at home, but I have never hauled him somewhere to ride at. My younger sister will be joining me with Togan. I would bring Sierra along too but Im not sure if she 1) still rides nearly as good as she used to and 2) if she is in foal or not. So she's out until a vet check is done.

I cant wait to see how he does. Wish us luck!

Best of luck! How exciting, I bet that your ride will be fun. I wish we lived close to a nature preserve, here my trails are just behind houses and along the busy street.

I live close to two state parks. Dunns Creek and Welaka State Forest (about a 15minute drive). Dunns Creek is a fairly new place, has horse trails but no facilities up yet for horses. Welaka has tons of trails, barns, arenas etc.

Ocala State isnt that far from me either.. maybe an hour.

I havent been to one of the parks in a while though. I mostly just trail ride at home. But now that I should have 3 solid riding horses (assuming Sierra isnt in foal) it will be tons of fun to go. If Dixie isnt used for breeding next season then that makes 4 and Dezirae gets broke to ride in the spring so that'll be 5! Woo hoo!

WOW that sounds great. I hope ya'll have fun, and I think that Zippy will love that.
