trust problems or bit problems??? HELP! building trust

I rode my 2 year old Quarter Horse about 3 days ago and he did fine. Then, my neighbor's trainer came over this morning and said that his bridle needed to be tightened (making the bit a little higher in his mouth). Well I debated lowering it back to where it was because when I put the bridle on, he was chewing and opening his mouth alot. A few minutes later he stopped and i took him to my arena. I took him at a walk at first and then he just out of no where started bucking. he calmed down and i walked him again and then once more, bucking. My neighbor had come over to watch me and she said it was his and her shadow because I dont usually ride during the morning hours (i usually ride around 6-7). So around 6 I might go back out to see if it really was the shadows. But it got me a little scared. I just dont want to get hurt. I don't have complete trust in my horse just yet because I have only had him for about 1 1/2 months. What could be causing this and how do i stop it??? Thanks!

(do you have any tips on building trust in your horse too?????)

He is two. Young. Many things could be going on; teeth coming in, spine/limbs/joints may not be developed enough to comfortably carry weight and so on.Saddle might not fit. He may not be mentally ready either.

It is tough to comment without seeing the bridle. Photos would probably help.

On one hand, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Sounds like the horse was better behaved and more comfortable before the change.
On the other hand a young horse may buck for any number of reasons. If the trainer is respected it may pay to listen to him.

Sounds like you are giving thoughtful consideration to the situation, and I am confident you will work your way through it. Best of luck.
