Cameo, How is Di doing in her training

I have been wondering on how one of favorite HT horses is doing. Do you have any recent pictures of her. Is she doing well in her new job?

She is at my trainers 90 miles away. SO no pics... She is doing well and so far the only issues she has is scared of the saddle coming at her... She is a little spooky, but hey she is 4yo and never been broke. I have not been down there but 1 time since she has been there. Not planning a trip there anytime soon with fuel prices and work and then having to deal with the loss of Zack and all that. SHe had big ole wolf teeth that had to be removed and her hooves done. She was also weaned from her bay the day we brought her home, so really could not push her for training until she dried up and gained a little weight.

Well, if anyone can teach her to ride, it will be Wayne.. She has a pretty good mind on her, though; so hopefully by this fall, she will be hitting the trails with her new mom..

I warned you we had done nothing but the basics.. no round penning, or pre-saddle work with her.. so he has had to start from scratch.. the good thing, though, is she has no bad habits or training to have to undo..

Those wolf teeth can be nasty. Thank goodness you have a wonderful trainer who is so patient. We have a 5 year old mare (warmblood x with arab) at our barn that hasn't been trained yet and will be this fall. It will be interesting to say the least how that will go, she has just been a pasture pet since she was born. She is going to be the daughter's future eventor.

Yes ma'am you did and I have no issues with that at all... I like a clean slate. Her actual riding is great. Nothing she is doing is out of the ordinary. She will get used to it and I am in no hurry on her training, so as long as it takes... I will not have a trainer that will tell you that the horse will be completely broke and finished in 30 days, no will I rush the training on one. That is caca.

She has been there since the 28th of June, he took her back that day we got her. So I am not preparing for her to come ack for another 5 to 6 weeks.

I like Wayne's training.. he doesn't push them until they are ready.. and doesn't tolerate excuses once he knows they are.. He is soft and patient.. old timer training..

I too can't wait to see her under saddle.. I think she will be a lot of fun for you - especially if she floats with that trot the way she did in the field.. Smooth..

If she is as smooth as Lily it will be a dream ride. Nothing can compare!!!! Hopefully we can all get together this fall.
