problem with training horse(s)

I have two horses one is a quarter who stands about 15 hands and another one which is a 2 year old colt standardbred/quarter . Since I had a horse stolen from me they will not leave each other site. So how do I work the horses without stressing the other out. I seperate them for a few minutes at a time but it only gets worse and I am the only one riding and I can't tie them up or stall them because they get destructive . Anybody has any advice please help

That's a tough situation...your horses know that one of them left under suspicious circumstances, and didn't come back. Now there's only two left, so they know if either of them dissapears, they will both be alone, and horses hate to be all alone.

You can try this: work them together, then separate them for breaks. As they get calmer about being apart, take them further and further apart when it's resttime.

You may not achieve peace though until you go back to a herd of three.
