Pictures from cross country lesson yesterday...

We trailered Cricket and Miley over to our trainer's barn yesterday, and did some cross country schooling. They started with a ditch, which Cricket was jumping really huge, and kind of shot Anna's confidence for the whole day. They got better as the day went on, though and had a good time! Miley was a trooper and just bulldozed right through anything Grace could get her pointed at- Steering is the issue for her! We took Grace's Aussie saddle so she would feel a little more secure and more confident in telling Miley where she wanted her to go.

Here are some pics!

Anna jumping some small logs and things...

And Anna hauling... you know what!... up the Gallop track...

Grace and Miley jumping and hanging out...

And cantering up the Gallop track...

Looks like they had a blast. I'm hoping to get my daugher involved in 4H or ponyclub next spring. She is 8 and has been taking lessons here and there for the past couple of years but is still on the leadline. She really wants me to let her ride on her own but the pony we have been borrowing is pretty hot (he is a little Hackney pony). She has already been bugging me to let her jump.

Once they get the jumping bug, it is hard to stop them! You should look at the pony Gbar has for sale, she is a dollbaby and would be perfect for your daughter- If our barn were not full, I would be getting her! Having a pony (or horse) you can trust is the main thing in letting the kids ride, in my opinion.

Gbar, that is her out on the paint horse in the lesson- It was so cute, seeing her holding that big horse back in a trot, and Miley cantering for all she was worth trying to keep up with him!

I love it - she has been great for the girls - and taken a lot of worry off of you..

Wait til I get Buttercup going under english saddle in October.. I will give those girls a run for their money..

Sounds great!! If a stall opens up, she might have to make a move... I have been wanting a "spare" for the girls, something that would listen to Grace a little better and that Anna could ride some to give Cricket a bit of a break. We are giving the ponies a day off today because of the lesson yesterday, and Anna would love to have something else to ride on those days. Our barn is totally full right now, though...

Anna would do wonders for her.. I am afraid that I am really too big to jump with her - so I will only be doing flat work... just let me know.. Have trailer, can travel..

Great pictures and it looks like a great place to work out. It sure seems that the girls new trainer is just what the Dr. ordered!

These pictures are just all too cute! If you don't mind me asking, how old are your girls? I'm sure when I was that young, I'd LOVE to be schooling cross country! They are going to be quite the riders when they get older!

I know I have been thinking about her and I wish that she was closer. My husband was actually in Clarksville, Tennesse just a couple of weeks ago for his job not sure how close that is to you GBAR.

About 2 hours or a little less - he is just east of Nashville there..

Memphis is about 6 hours from us if that helps.. and Carri unfortunately is 3 hours south from us.. or I could go and watch the girls in their shows.. I love to see the kids showing.. but have none left of my own to cheer on for a while..
