More on evaluation rides

Noni posted about an upcoming evaluation ride for Tango, which I think is a great idea for her.
I had already arranged for one of my instructors to ride and start putting some work on Rio.
She had her first ride yesterday (which I didn't get to see)
The feedback was really interesting, yes he played some mind games with her to convince her he couldn't do some things, even tried to intimidate her by rushing off a bit, dropping his head or even popping his back end.
They worked through it and he learned again that silliness just results in more hard work.
She will ride him once a week for me for the next month or so and will jump him to help me develop him.
Most importantly, while in a lesson with her, she can give me even better feedback on what I'm doing and the best means to bring out the best in him.
I can't wait to be there when she rides him, I never actually get to see what he's like when he's working!

YAY you and Rio. Sounds like you're gonna get some great feedback. I can't wait for my eval ride...sounds like you learned a lot, and I am hoping for similar results.

Best-
Noni
