one of my friends haven't had enough room at his breeding barn for one of his fillies.so i took her to my house and my other horse flicka.(the one with the rearing problem)got along great.the horse i got is named peaches and she's a quarter horse.and she's 8 months old.but she's taller than my 3 year old quarter horse.i measured her and she's up to 15:2.my other one is about 14:5.i dont know if my horse is just a midget or she's a quarter pony.
Well 14.5 is really 15.1, which I would say is on the short side of normal for a QH. The youngster is probably either an early bloomer or is going to be really tall, or your horse is a late bloomer or just short.
I'm not sure what you meant by 14:5. Do you mean she's fourteen and a half hands high? If so, you can write is as 14.2.
Each decimal point equals 1 inch. 15.1 is 15 hands and one inch. 15.2 is 15 hands and two inches. 15.3 is 15 hands and three inches. You cannot have 15.4 since that .4 is 4 inches and that adds another hand, making 16 hands.
I agree. We have a horse that is about 14.1 and he is really quick. He is about to go into training as a steer dogging horse, so shorter horses are around
