Solo ride for our 2 year old gelding colt

Took some pictures of our 2 year old AQHA gelding colt's solo ride, he is doing great and just so accepting of it all.
Busy Jumpin Stars also known as Jack.

He is so much like his dad temperament wise

We mess around with him about 3 times a week for 15 to 20 minutes sitting on him and just walking around like this, whoaing all the basics and he learns so quick.
Proud of his progress and just wanted to brag him up some!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Note the harsh training gear (halter and lead)

He is handsome - and big

Great job - it always feels so good when what you have tried to teach them sticks to that spot inbetween their ears instead of passing through..

Congratulations

I am SO jealous! My now two year old had a recent hoof accident and it has put off his first ride significantly!

He looks calm and beautiful!

Thanks, He is a good kid, we like to make them as user friendly as possible for their next owners/family.
Jack has a good start. He'll find his family and we will keep working with him till he does.

He should make a nice all arounder as he is good minded and level headed.

Hang in there horses-n-greyhounds once River is healed up we will be seeing pictures of you and him on here.

Jack is a nice, calm looking boy! You must be so pleased with him and how he's coming along.

I enjoy reading these types of posts since it's close to my heart with my own two year old soon to be going to the trainers. Please keep us updated to Jack's progress!

We start all our youngsters bareback with a halter and lead, they get leaned over for a while then sat on for a while all with a person holding the lead and talking to them while I do the leaning and sitting, then they get led off with me on them for a bit, then we go from there.

I can't jump at all so they learn how to stand sideways beside a gate so I can climb up the gate and slide on also. They pick up on that pretty quickly actually.

I enjoy starting youngsters, always have.......... Although I am getting kinda old for that kind of stuff.

He is advertised on our website and on a few horse sites, horsetopia included.

PM me if you would like particulars on him, as I don't want to make this post an advertisement, he is for sale along with some of his siblings.

Jack is a quiet colt, pretty easy going, very people friendly and trusting as people have never done anything to make him think they were a bad thing. All our youngsters are like that and it makes them sooo much easier to work with and train.
