Can we start at the ground? Meaning, what are ground manners, what should your horse be able to do (i.e. standing still while mounting) and what behaviors are not acceptable (i.e. like what is too close, in your space, et cetera really mean??).

When will this start? I will be so anxious to read this stuff...I'm far more lost than even Gilligan and the Skipper...

Best-
Noni

I must apologize for the delay in getting this organized. How I wish there were more hours in the day! We have taken all of these great suggestions under advisement and will hopefully get things rolling real soon!

So this means we can post our training problems and the HT team of professional trainers will answer them?

Not a bad idea.

I couldn't add to a discussion since the only advice I can give is what NOT to do But I'd certainly be asking advice of those more knowledgeable. Even if that advice is "get your horse to a trainer before you kill yourself."

Looking forward to how this progresses.

Anyone will be invited to comment on the topics. We do have quite a few very knowledgeable members who are trainers though, so I am sure we will see some very helpful responses!

This is a great idea. It will be like an on line Clinic. Cool. Will we be able to disguss and ask questions on each topic?

Is this still a go? I see this thread was brought up from a year ago?

I'm not sure this falls into the training category; but if so, some ideas to help riders overcome their own fears/anxieties, to gain back shattered confidence - something along those lines.

I found a book on that and read it. It was more geared for competitors, but perhaps it may apply. Personally I didn't get a lot out of it ~ oh well, but if you are interested PM me and I'll get you the name of it. It sold on eBay for $15.50, I found it on www.addall.com for $5!
