Lunging, please help me out...

Ok, so I've lunged a horse before. A couple times actually. I've just never lunged MY horse. I am 99.9% sure that she has never lunged in her life (she's between 10-12 years old) and really, I think lunging her would be beneficial. My problem is, I don't know where to start or how to teach her how to lunge. I have the space and equipment to do it, just not the know how . Any and all help would be appreciated here.

Here is a link to a pretty easy to understand site - hope this helps!

Clinton Anderson also has a very good video on lunging, as do some of the others... I prefer round pen work, or free lunging myslef, but I think I am in the minority!

Gbar I prefer free lunging too! Also do you have a roundpen? If so definately start out in there and don't worry a lot about speed it will come later.

Actually. I would prefer a round pen because I am so darn klutzy with the line, and like you Hellokitty, my horse is older and has not learned longeing.
It was muh eaiser to do on horses that knew what they were doing!
My boarders have a roundpen but it is outdoors and all icy now. But, if you have a roundpen, hk, it probably is easier.
