JC is training me!

Today I took JC out to the arena to work with him. He has been cooped up in the stall since Friday. I took the longe whip out and as soon as I pointed at him with the whip he started walking around, but if I raised it he took off running. If I drop the whip he stops and turns to me. Now I need to figure out how to get him to trot. Where do I hold the whip?

I guess tomorrow he will tell me the answer.

Try pointing it at him like you do for a walk and wriggling it a little, or twirling the end.

Don't forget to ask for changes of direction too.

you can tap it on the dirt, or raise it very slightly, even a couple of inches, and like above poster said, wave it a little, and or a voice command like "trot" or cluck. he sounds very smart!
