Stunt tricks

Hey everyone, a friend asked me this and I didn't know what to tell her, so I thought one of you may know so that I may tell my friend (who was just curious by the way). How do you get a horse(like the trick horses) to go down to where they will let you on their backs. I hope I asked that right, thats the way my friend asked me.

Do you mean a one legged bow ?
Or do you mean the praying bow?

I think it is just where the horse goes down on both legs to let a rider on?

That is pretty tough on a horse to get up bearing their weight and that of the tack and rider.
Tell her to get a mounting block instead

It crossed my mind to get Lestat to do that, though not until he is much older of course.

When he bows, he goes down really low and puts hid head practically in the dirt. My thinking was to get him used to me just leaning on him when he bows down. Just touching his back at first. And asking him to hold it for longer.

Now I don't know if I'll ever get on him like this. But the thought did cross my mind.

I think it is more beneficial to teach your horse to stretch its body out, than to teach it to bow. Sure, bowing looks cool, but it will only serve to hurt your horse’s knees (in my experience). Some horses will even fall over. Teach your horse (or, I believe in your case, your friend’s horse) to “pose” on command with its front legs out in front and its hind legs way out in back. I can’t really describe how it should look, but basically your horse’s body is stretched out and its belly is lower to the ground. This is natural for horses; they do it all the time when they urinate. If you very slowly introduce weight, and if the horse is posed properly, it will strengthen their back muscles (horses carry your weight with their belly muscles). Whatever you decide to do, good luck! “Trick training” is a fun and rewarding process when done correctly.

Edited to add:
Also as someone else has already pointed out, if it is possible, use a mounting block. This is the best thing for your horse and your tack that you can do!
