parelli

ok so I've decided Im going to do parrelli with my jumper....I was watching a video with Karen and David C'Connor riding their 4 star Event horses ....they could jump their horses bridle'less through a 6 stride line and adjust from like 6 strides to 11 ...I can barely collect William to add one stride let alone 5!
anyway to the point !!! does anyone know where I can get a level one kit for cheaper than the store? I dont mind used...however I dont have a casset player so It kinda needs to be with CD's so ebay doesnt work....

any opinions on parelli when it comes to jumping horses ( basically I want to just learn to listen and be more of a friend to my horse )

The level one set is basically just the seven games. It won't show anything about how to jump bridleless. That's a level 3 thing. The program isn't designed to skip to level 3 without first being great at level one and two. And I mean a flawless level one and two.

Is there any chance you can attend a clinic? It helps the kit make a lot more sense if you see it in practice first.

I've seen quite a few English horses get their act together with the Parelli if you put the time in.

You can also put an alert on your Ebay account to let you know when the CDs come on. It says "alert me when a listing for this description shows up" or something like that when your search comes up empty.

Im glad you've decided to try parrelli just practising level one exersises ,many scattered, disrespectful or fearful horses have been helped.

OK where to start? What PArelli has done has taught his horses to really listen to his body and position. Learn to control your body and emotions and you will be able to do everything Parelli does. He doesn't really let you in on this little secret though. This is how I teach and train all my students and horses. If you want to learn how to rate your horse's stride try slowing your posting down, bring your shoulders back and half-halt, then start posting a little harder to increase the length of stride. Learn to do this at the walk, trot and canter.

Learn to really LOOK where your going, not with just your eyes but with your shoulders and hips also.

Free lesson of the day!!!

Ebay has the DVD box sets, level's 1 to 3. I've been keeping my eye on the Parelli stuff hoping to get the bareback pad cheap.

We purchased ours right through the Parelli's canadian site. We paid $275 canadian for level 1, $300'ish for level 2, haven't made it past level 1 and 2 so 3 isn't an option yet.
You definatly have to have the levels in order to understand the proper techniques used and have the proper outcome.
You can get all 3 levels and the training equipment from the Parelli's web site for a good discounted price, you save acouple hundred.
VERY, well WORTH the money, I love this training system and it makes the not so fun, blah days more exciting. When you accomplish something it feels great and makes you want to get to level 3, then all the other cool dvd's such as dressage, jumping, roping, tricks ect. I can't wait

anglojumper, the canadian Parelli site is based out of Alberta, so you will probably save on shipping

It's the BEST couple hundred $$$$ we've invested in!!!!!

Which, if your cues are so subtle, you will then end up at a posting walk or even a posting halt! Talk about the horse paying attention to your body cues!
