Talking I Found A Trail Horse

She's was in my pasture.Bought her for my son last year and of course this year he got a full time summer job and has lost interest in riding.
Some of you might be familiar with some of the struggles we have been having with my daughter's pony at home.We have been trying to give him and her a break and so I have started trail riding with my daughter on my sons (now mine)horse.LadyBug is a ten year old Quarterhorse and I think she may have been trained for roping(doesn't mind a rope being twirled over her head).I made a new years resolution to start riding again this year,I haven't riden after a bad fall in 2003 and seriously injured my tail bone.So over this past week my daughter and I have gone out for three nice rides together. She goes back to school tomorrow so I took today off work and we went for a ride around.I think LadyBug prefers being my pasture pet as compared to being my mount ,she wasn't easy to catch when we first bought her ,but she got over it.Yesterday we went to catch daughter's gelding for pony club and she took one look at us and went the other way.Fortunately daughter's pony is very easy to catch so we just took him out of the pasture. This morning after spending the night alone in the pasture she came when she was called..Anyways just looking to share how good it feels to be back in the saddle again.

Glad you're back at it, funny how much effort it can actually be to get out and DO it at times, hey?! Then you go, what the heck was I waiting for ?! Hope you keep it up

Oh, most of mine are pretty easy to catch, but when they have their moments, especially if you want to go for a ride, I've never been above shaking a bit of grain in a bucket

There definately is work involved with riding, but I was doing it all ,catching grooming, picking out hooves helping daughter saddle etc. just not riding.I'm out of riding shape and have never used a mounting block ,but with RM's post about a mounting block I figured using a mounting block was better than not riding(thanks rm).LadyBug certainly was enjoying all the attention with out the actual ride.Believe me I certainly don't have a problem shaking a bucket to catch the horses or we sometimes use cookies, but I guess Ladybug decided to revert back to her old habbit.I'm definately wondering what I waited for (besides getting things straightened out with the Chiro).Kearstyn is enjoyng haveing me to ride with and I'm hoping Dumpling will get past some of his sourness.Looks like this might be a win win situation
