Anybody been to East Fork Stables?

I want to plan a trip to go there for one of their 3 day trail rides. The good and bad please.

I'm there every week, sometimes once or twice a week.

It's a very nice place to ride, plenty of trails for all but the most hardcore endurance types (who can go to nearby BSF). A good arena with poles and jumps available, decent stalls, and corrals in most of the campsites.

Things to watch out for:

Drunk rednecks.
Show riders whose horses have never seen a deer but thought it would be fun because trail riding is so EEEEEASY!
Beginner riders
Rude riders.

All in all, it's a great place to visit, don't let my little list fool you

We make a yearly trip in the fall for a long weekend. The ridge trail has some awesome overlooks. The river trail is preatty challeging and very rocky but worth the effort. Make sure you and your horse are in good shape for the river trail. The facilities are very nice. We are always comfortable in the camp grounds. The trails are marked well. If you read a warning sign, don't take it lightly. There are picket lines at most picnic tables. Be sure and check out Apple Bag and Base of the Rock. The stone house is preaty neat. The only advice I can give is to be sure and take a map of the trails with you. They pass those out when you check in. The fees have gone up in the past few years. We won't make the trip this year. Please let us know about your trip. Oh, make reservations now. They fill up fast. Have a great ride!!

Which is better South or East Fork? What is the difference between the two? I sooo want to go there someday. Nevada to Tenn. would be a journey for sure! I wonder how many miles and hours it would take. Hummm Something to thinks about

It really depends on what you want to do. There are more overall miles and trails at Big South Fork. There's usually less people, too, but you'll run into hikers and sometimes bikers as well, albeit rarely.

East Fork has clearly marked trails and support staff in case you get into trouble out there - you have a green horse and get thrown, help will come quicker if you are at EF. You might run into their employees in a truck out on a trail, but you won't see hikers or bikers. You'll probably see other riders - sometimes many of them.

EFS also has an arena and round pen, cabins or campsites to rent, and stalls or corrals available. I think they are contracting with someone to provide rental horses as well - but you'll need to ask them about this.
