Think I'm Going To Upchuck

Keith and I are heading out for a ride. You have read my prior posts about first time riding in the yard since my wreck in mid-May, and that it went well.

This is the first time I will be riding through the field where Ahliver spun, bolted, and I came off. Our first ride away from the safety of the yard, barn, etc. Cooper will be with us, so it should be okay yet I feel my stomach getting sick and I'm still sitting at my computer. I am literally shaking and feeling clamy just sitting here.

I must remember not to freak when we get to the area of the wreck so he doesn't feed off my anxiety. I need to be calm and talking to Ali's body parts so he will focus on me.

Please send positive thoughts our way.

Will let you know how it went.

What I used to do is a) not eat bkfst LOL b) Lunge Lunge Lunge and c) take a deep breath and get on. Do a few practice spins around the dressage court to make sure she was listening to me, and then head out. Good that you are going out with someone...I used to go out alone.

It's going to be fine, get on there and SING your way round, breathe and sing.

Picture yourself trying to get that fly mask on, and findng that the boy isn't wearing his bridle quite right, and just giggle your way around.

Too late; I already ate. Yah! That's why he spun and bolted in May - because I took him out alone for the second time. Cooper was calling from his pasture that if he didn't come back they were both going to die. It was my fault, I pushed Ali past his tolerance level - and didn't realize it.
