First trail ride on my own horse!

Yesterday, I could not wipe the grin off of my face. My first trail ride on my own horse. She was simply awesome. No spook, loose rein, she even loaded in the trailer without issues. She obviously enjoys trailriding as opposed to working in the round pen. Today, it hurts to sit down, but I am still smiling . We found two kittens in the weeds, obviously had been dumped, but they would not come to me. I went back after the ride with a can of tuna and a pet taxi. There was another car in the parking area, and when she saw me get out with food, she showed me her pet taxi with the kittens in it! She said she had seen them the day before, and she would find them good homes. I am glad I got there when I did or I would had worried about what had happened to them. Anyway here is my pic before you guys threaten me. My son took the pic from our Haflinger, who also did well but he is still fairly green.

Say, does this trail make my butt look big?!

And you get to go riding with your son? And he rides a Haflinger? You truly lead a blessed life. But then you're also the kind of person who went back for the kitties, so you obviously are getting what you deserve ~ in the nicest way possible. Plus you met another good soul who thought the same exact thing. Ohio must breed 'em good

Where did you ride ? I like the fact that the trail is wide enough for two horses.

That looks like a lot of fun! I am glad your horse was so good.
That is great that someone caught the kitties, too!

We rode at Scioto Trails. I love the fact that we can be there in about 15 mins and there is a on-line map of their bridle trails that can be downloaded. This peticular trail is wide and rather flat. Great for beginning trail riders.
