Brushy Creek in Black MO? We were there in spring and are going for the fall ride in October, on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th!! Its a beautiful place, the campgrounds are very nice, and you eat plenty of good food! Also, the stalls while kind of small for a big long horse like Cleo, are very sturdy and safe. Its a nice place, the trails are very nice.

Can I just drool over the trailer in your avatar? I have a puny 2-horse bumper pull, but I'm lucky enough to camp with someone who has a living quarters trailer similar to yours. Someday, I'll be camping in style like you...

I don't know the Missouri weather (was in St. Louis a few times in August and it was hot. And humid. About melted my pasty Minnesota skin right off my skeleton!) but hope you have a great weekend for your trip!

Yup--we get the crap weather all winter (I can't tell you how many below zero days we had last year) but at least we get decent summers. Today was maybe 80--a little humid, but not bad.

If (ok, husband's not looking, I'm changing it to when!) I have a trailer like yours it better have heat--not worried so much about air.

I'm thinking the great HT get togethers would be held in July in Minnesota and perhaps October in Missouri?

October in Missouri at Brushy Creek! October in Missouri is beautiful, cool weather, the trees are changing beautiful fall colors, well worth the equator-like heat in July and August....come on down!

APHApaints,
Well, for what it's worth I just checked the long range forcast for labor day weekend.

Slight chance of rain on Friday and then low 80's for the rest of the weekend. Should be some great riding weather.

There's a restaurant? Sounds like you'll really be roughing it! Brushy Creek sounds like a great place to check out--especially for those of us who quit trail riding for the winter in about October (have I mentioned how much I hate winter?)

There is a beautiful lodge and restaurant. The people that own Brushy Creek run a juvenile detention center for teenage boys. Kind of a rehab place for these troubled teens. They work with the horses, and they work at the restaurant and other places around the ranch. The food is quite good and the tips go to the boys. We dont tip at each meal but when we are leaving we stop by and leave one tip for the entire stay. There is a website, if you google Brushy Creek Lodge, Black MO you will find it.
