Just had to brag on my boy!

Sorry guys, but I gotta do it! I'm so proud of him!

It's 10:45 here and we just came in from our ride.

He was so awesome! We went down the road in halter/leadrope and bareback. Got passed by an idiot driver who decided to speed up and HONK right as he got beside us. Jake never flinched, just kept walking.

Then, a few houses down, a pack of 6 dogs decided to be "brave" followed us, barking growling the whole nine yards. The littlest one even tried to bite Jake's heels and all he did was stop and tuck his tail in.

We even worked on having someone ride up behind us and he is getting much better on that as well. Definetly giving me more of his focus!

Ok, I'll stop now. Just had to brag... I'm so proud of him

It truely is awesome!

Everyday I mess with him or just anytime I see him, we get just a little more connected and he gets a little better.

I don't think I have ever had a horse that gives me so much "try" as he does. I can't explain it, but he's definetly my boy... don't think I could ever let him go now. ( we had thought on selling him when he was younger, but I'm so happy we didn't now, he has by far exceeded all my expectations of him)

I thought I remembered seeing a sale ad for him a while back, I'm glad you didn't sell him too!

It's so crazy because every time I see a post about you and Jake it's like someone could be talking about me and Doc. I still think they are long lost brothers or something!

ETA: I forgot to post on your other thread but Doc is doing the same thing in his dorsal too.

Well, word to the wise... Something about these HT dun horses, they may fool you at first, but don't get rid of them... They turn out awesome

As for his dorsal, I guess it must just be sun bleaching? but it sure is getting light by his withers I'm gonna start him on some paprika and see if it makes a difference.

I hear ya, Doc will be here for life!
The yearlings here at home are doing the same thing too so I'd say it's definately sun bleaching. Weird...

Thats awesome that he is doing so well! I keep telling my kid that is working on her mare that short positive interactions really add up in the long run where trust is concerned. It's very hard to think handing the really good ones over to other people when you have invested yourself in them.

You should be bragging! I know about that connection, and it is certainly something non-horsey folk can't understand.
