PICTURES!!! Extreme Trail Challenge

Here's the pictures of the Extreme Trail Challenge at Double C Stables in Dawsonville for July 20th. The group pictures is me and my saddle club buddies. I'm the one on the buckskin paint. My friend Sheri is the one on the far left. She scored the highest out of our group. There were 23 participants that showed up. None of us made the top 5, but we had a lot of fun! There's a picutre of me on the teeter totter that everyone has been hearing so much about.

More pictures.

The craziest thing on this challenge was the blue wall. They had a HUGE blue tarp that looked like a movie screen that we had to walk our horses through. They told us that we could lift the tarp up and walk under too, but many horses wouldn't even get close enough for the rider to grab it.

Looks like fun. That teeter totter wasnt bad at all, didn't look very tall. At our mounted patrol competition one year, we had a teeter totter bridge where you stepped on it on the UP end and when you did, of course it slammed down, well at the other end was tennis balls and they went flying in the air and some rolled down toward the horse. Obstacles are a never ending art of imagination !!!!

Glad you had fun, thats what it is all about !!!

Love your bucksin/paint. He handled that teeter totter very well from the looks of the picture.

I've seen the type of teeter totter bridge you're on. Nice paint by the way

I don't think I'd do one if it had something like the tennis balls on it. That would be far too easy to have a wreck in my opinion.

It was mounted patrol, our horses encounter more than just tennis balls. It was actually the easiest obstacle !!

Obstacle challenges are alot of fun. It sure does develope a trusting bond between you and your horse.

I am sure you are looking forward to your next one. They are addicting !!

It looks like you did a great job! Congrats! I would love to try something like that, but I think my horse would freak on the teeter totter.

How long was the whole course?

Wow that looks like sooo much fun!!! The teeter totter looks fun if you want something funky to ride over try a full sized mattress ...It took a couple attempts to get the boys over that one.

Huckabuck........I didn't even bother to figure out what place I fell into. I will say I scored 117 out of 230 possible points. The winner got 222. One lady in my group got 181 and she got like 7th or 8th place. Several people got scores in the 90's. So after I saw the results, I wasn't too bummed about my score.

Thanks everyone for you kind comments on my horse. Trigger is a true partner. There may have been "some" obstacles that he wouldn't cross, but I always felt safe and still trusted my mount. We've been together for 10 years. He's 21 this year and he's the best horse I've ever had.

We had a little bit smaller challenge like that at the Siver Spur ride this past April. My daughter and Tango's kids participated, but we didn't. We took our horses up there the next day and none of ours had issue with anything. My hubby's horse when daughter was riding him wouldn't work for her, I told her she should have rode her own

Those kids were cute tryin to dally up without a saddle.
