A Trail Ride LONG overdue!!!LOTS OF PICS!!!

On thursday 07-17-08 my close friend and co-worker Beth, took me trail riding. I haven't been In I think two to three years!! Believe me I have been hurtin!!!!! We went to Dawson Forest. It was soooooooooooo Beautiful !!!!!! We could not have planned a better day to go. Sunny, upper 80's and a wonderful breeze. The breeze was even better at the Etowah River. We rode for 3 1/2 hours!!!!!!!!! We had so much fun and it went by so fast can't believe we were out there that long. The horses--- Jerry and Mac Had fun too. Jerry is an experienced trail horse and Mac, this was her second time out and she was AWESOME!!!!! They had so much fun splashing in the water. It was hilarious watching Mac. She'd never been in such a big body of water. And Jerry only got his front feet in and was splashing, scared Mac at the same time I am fighting to get my camera ready and Mac was bouncing around like a ping pong ball she just dove n the water and was scaring her self splashing around. If only I had a min or two longer to get my camera I would have got it on video. It was the most funniest thing I've ever seen!!!!!!!! She proved that a 13.5 Connamara Pony has the potential to BE A CUTTING HORSE!!!!! But she settled down and watched Jerry Splashing and she started it too it was so sweet. Jerry dunked his head in the water a few times. Well Here are some pics Ya'll enjoy!!!!!!

Jerry 25 yr old Quarter Horse 16HH!!!! Jerry is Beths Hubbys Horse.

Heres another pic of Jerry with me and I'm %5'1. He towers over me!!!

Heres Beth's 3 yr old Connamara Filly, Mac.

LOL, No about half way (which was the river) there was a pretty meadow and we ate lunch and let them nibble on grass, which I think they were too excited to be on the trail to eat, On the way back Mac would take a few bites and just hold it in her mouth. Beth would take it out and Mac would find more grass on the way back to the trailer and just hold it in her mouth she wouldn't eat it. Beth and I where joking around saying that she was saving it for the ride home It was so cute, and it was such green grass.

It's at Dawson Forest. In Dawsonville, GA. That place has I think 20+ miles to ride. You could definately do an overnighter If you live far away. There is Primitive camping so come prepared bring water, no toilets and such. And also If you go, stick with the blue trail thats the one we went on and is more beautiful. If you stick to the trails and not so much of the roads your horses can get away with no shoes.
