Thanks so much for your help gypsy and rubysrider - really appreciate it!
Rubysrider - you might be familiar with these trails that are right off of 412 heading into Siloam Springs. You pull off onto this dirt road and take it up for a couple miles. I can't think of the name of the trails off hand though but can get it later.
My husband doesn't ride so it's just I who has a horse. He's a bay QH who loves the few trails we've been on. Unfortunately I've lost contact with the lady I used to trail ride with.
Bay's great on the trails, easy going in front or rear and has the confidence to get along well with any horse he's come into contact with. No spook, kick, or act looney on me. I've only had one issue with him out on the trails once and we were out just way too long. He over heated and exerted himself. Luckily we were able to get him feeling better and all was good again, and headed home.
I know of 4 places locally by me with awesome safe trails. One of my favorites is nicely marked and the surroundings are just beautifully filled with shady trees and streams. My issue is I just don't want to hit the trails alone...
Gypsy - regarding driving to the trails. I think I can handle a haul no more than two hours. I pulled up the site you gave and your're right. Their rides are pretty far from where I am. Looked like a wonderful group though.
