In Arkansas?

My dad went in May, 2007. It is a tough ride. Very steep in places. The terrain is rough. Dad went thru the week and said it was not crowded at all, but Friday night, a lot of people rolled in. He said next time, he won't stay over on Friday night, but pull out Friday morning.

I've canoed the Buffalo many times, but have never ridden there myself. The scenery is spectacular.

Oh, one other thing - do a thorough check of your brake system before you go - it is a steep incline going in. The hubcaps on my dad's new truck melted because the brakes got so hot. He's not a newbie at hauling, either. He's been hauling livestock for 50 years.

I believe there is a Buffalo River Trail ride in Tennessee too. When we were at Jamestown at Eastfork we talked aout going over the mountain to it to. We did not though.

Yeah, I am assuming she was talking about the Buffalo National River here, just up the road from me, but there's probably a Buffalo River in every state...

If it is this one, it is rugged, but relatively safe, and beautifull - particularly in the Fall...

This is what I had heard, andthe brochures... You should be able to pull it up on the internet. It was a good place to ride, but horse needed shoes. Has pretty advanced trails and very very nice camp grounds. All in all from what I have seen on the net, it looks like a great place. I loved Eastfork too.I want to go to Big Southfork.

We went there last April. The food is great and the owners are very willing to please. The riding is nice and lots of pretty country to see. I hear the October ride has a bigger crowd. April was kinda boring to us as there wern't many people. We are used to the bigger crowds at CCTR in Eminence, Mo and love it there.
