Memorial Weekend in the Shawnee
We spent a lovely weekend at One Horse Gap campground in the Shawnee Forest of Illinois. The crowd was small (stupid gas prices) but there were still about 40 riders. OHG is a GREAT place to stay. Wonderful, clean camp. Excellent hosts, good food and even better riding.
I took a friend of mine who had not been on a horse in 6 years. I don't think I have ever seen anyone grin and giggle so much! She had a blast. Here is our set up. Hubby is putting the grate over the fire to prepare dinner.  Myfriend in one of the many caves  Me and my friend coming up out of "the gap"  We rode up so high, we were on eye level with the birds  More coming...

stat - when she is in heat, she tends to be very concerned about who is coming up behind her. The half-blinkers just help her concentrate on the trail in front of her, rather than what is behind her.
I think she looks very sexy in gold!

Stunning scenery! That would be MY idea of camping! As long as I have indoor plumbing and a bed (or and a tv) I'm happy.

Applejack - didn't see a bee all weekend, but the ticks were really bad. But that's not just ILL, the ticks seem to be very bad everywhere this season.
