Rode at Natchez Trace Pkwy Sunday

Here are some pictures, hopefully.

It was beautiful, and the weather was great. The horses crossed several streams, little wooden bridges, and went through a tunnel that crosses under the parkway, a huge bear cave. But, they surprised me and did it without missing a lick.

Soli and myself.

Magic and Larry.

We had a great time, but I know I was pretty darn sore when we got home. We had bute all around that night.

That was the parkway and not the park right? Cause as many times as I've been to the park I don't remember any of that (but maybe we haven't done all the trails). Glad you had fun. It was a gorgeous weekend.

It was the Parkway. The park doesn't have that rough of trails. I loved it down there. I want to take hubby there to ride sometime. Maybe we can arrange something there sometime?

dproaps,
It is just southwest of Leiper's Fork, TN. If you were coming from Dickson, you would take the Parkway exit off of 40, go out McCrory and I believe it becomes the Parkway, or intersects with it. Garrison Creek parking area is about 11 miles south of Hwy.96 on the left. It has very nice facilities for trailer parking and restrooms.

The trail is only one way, so you have to double back and ride it in reverse to return. The only mistake we made was riding until we were starting to get tired before we turned around. We were whipped that night.

grannycowgirl,
It is a considerable distance from N. Mississippi, as it is in middle TN. But, there may be some trails on your end of the Parkway, you might ought to check into it.

pasogirl, I used to be, but am no longer a member or active with TVPFHA.

We do have a really good ride on the Parkway, Witch Dance. I ride there a lot. I am always looking for new places to camp and ride. I have camped at Natchez Trace State Park in TN, very nice.

Yes, I like Natchez Trace Park. That is where my daughter got married. I took my horses and camped that weekend there and rode them before and after the wedding. Actually the photographer was with me on her horse, we took a wrong turn, went the opposite direction we should have and had to haul Paso to get back to make the wedding on time. My daughter didn't find it too amusing.
