My weekend at Graves Mnt Va Pic Heavy

Seven of us went for the weekend. We got there and it was cloudy but no rain.We took about a 2 hr ride up behind the lodge. Saturday morning was great we rode up to Big Meadows up on Skyline Drive. Was our first time there on horses. It took us 8hrs total but that included stops to give the horses a break..So here are some of the better pics I got My camera was acting weird. It wasn't my weekend for electronics..The day before i left my cell took a swan dive in the stock tank as I was cleaning it out, Then the solar charger battery died so Reno escaped one time before I jumped my fence to my buddy's. But overall I had a great weekend. Now I'm trying to get the LQ cleaned up , it rained Sat. night and until I got home. But I would do it again in a heart beat..

I am so jealous of all of that beautiful fall foliage...here in south GA, we never see color like that. Its breathtaking! It looks like everyone had a lot of fun. You all have lovely equine buddies to hit the trails with, and Reno is really super gorgeous. He looks so cute in that first photo...the purple looks great with his coloring.

What a beautiful place to ride. Add another place to my list of places I must ride someday. I'm so envious of the beautiful hills and foliage - but I really don't like cold and snow so I'm in a catch 22. Nice shots and good looking horses too!!!

Well why weren't you with them.. I love going there to ride. I also like Fort Valley. Graves is a 3hr haul for me. Fort Valley about 4. We rode 8 hrs that day and we and the horses were whooped. But it was all worth every ache this old body has The LQ is parked for the year and now it's the old stock trailer for local riding. Can't wait for spring to get here We rode the lake today and I never took the camera out once...hmmmm that's rare for me..

Beautiful pictures! I'd love to ride my horses there someday, but it's highly unlikely. Too far away for us -- well, not for me but for my hubby it would be.

My one memory of Skyline Drive was a few years ago riding back on my motorcycle from VA Beach....it was so foggy we couldn't see anything. I was lucky to be able to follow my hubby's tail light so I didn't go off the road.
