Neoprene or No?

Having been 17 years since I last bought any tack for a horse, Neoprene wasn't on the market (if it was, I wasn't aware of it). I've had someone recommend buying Neoprene saddle pads and cinches. Anyone use them? Pros and cons?

I have a Professional Choice Neoprene girth, waffle weave pattern. I like this pattern better. The solid neoprene rubs a little rougher b/4 the sweating starts for the lubrication.

I use a neoprene cinch and pad on my trail horse and have never had any problems. I think it helps keep the saddle in place on the trail and they are easy to clean.

We had a horse that hated the neoprene - would buck like mad every time we used it. I think it pulled and pinched. I have been leery of it ever since. I do have the Pro Choice waffle weave girth tho - and it is great. I guess it depends on you...and the horse.

Thanks everyone! By the sounds of it, we may just have to try it out!
